Comunicación internacional...

Interesante, eso podría decirse de la clase de inglés del día de hoy. Como ya había mencionado en los post anteriores, nuestro proyecto con alumnos de español de Estados Unidos se esta realizando a la perfección. Finalmente pudimos comunicarnos. Por medio del Skype nos llamaron a nuestros celulares y mantuvimos una amena conversación, en mi caso tuve la suerte de hablar con Evie (21) y Brandon (19), dos jóvenes muy amables y divertidos. Comenzamos intercambiando un poco de información personal para conocernos mejor, me comentaron sobre sus proyectos, que resultan ser temas muy debatidos como el caso de los feminicidios en Mexico y la crisis económica de la Argentina. Este último, encarado por Brandon parece ser un topic muy llamativo entro estos alumnos y en verdad lo es. Lamentablemente mis conocimientos de política y economía no son muy profundos como para ayudarlo pero pudimos intercambiar algunas opiniones al respecto.
Luego de varios minutos, se sumo a la conferencia Mauricio, de mi clase, y la charla se hizo más cotidiana y nos dispusimos a tocar temas de interés común como la música que escuchábamos o deportes que practicamos, también describimos cada uno un poco el lugar donde vivimos y hablamos de nuestras familias.
Esta conversación de 35 minutos me demostró cuan importante es el aprendizaje de otro idioma, porque si cada uno opta por no aprender otra lengua, la globalización no existiría y todos viviríamos en “mundos” separados e incomunicados. Por tal, tampoco podríamos profundizar en los aspectos culturales ni comercializar.
Hay diferentes cosas que favorecen y enriquecen a una cultura, como es el intercambio de tradiciones y opiniones también con personas que tienen otros puntos de vista y opiniones formadas en base a su forma de vida, que puede ser muy diferente a la nuestra. Esto es tan importante como reconocer que no podemos vivir incomunicados. El ser humano es un ser social cuyo alimento es la comunicación con los demás individuos de la sociedad, y hoy, Argentinos y Norteamericanos nos alimentamos a base de una simple charla organizada por 2 profesoras cuyo gran interés y entusiasmo nos motivó a llevar a cabo un proyecto del cual me siento orgullosa y deseo continuar desarrollando.Para concluir este comentario de mi experiencia del día de hoy, solo quiero agregar que creo que es un fabuloso proyecto que promueve la interactividad y comunicación con los demás países, con el cual podemos adquirir nuevos conocimientos y conceptos. Sin dejar de lado la lengua, aprender inglés de esta forma diferente, me parece productivo e interesante y es algo que vale la pena probar.

Interesting… that could be said of today English class. As I had already mentioned in previous post, our project with American students of Spanish is developing perfectly. Finally we could communicate. Through Skype they called us to our cellphones and we had a pleasant conversation, in my case with Evie (21) and Brandon (19), two friendly and nice students.
We began exchanging a bit of personal information to know one another better, they commented me about their projects, that turn up to be subjects very debated as the case of female murders in Mexico and the economic crisis of Argentina. This last one, faced by Brandon seems to be an attractive topic between these students and truly, it is. Unfortunately, my knowledge of politics and economics is not very deep as to help him but we could exchange some opinions about this controversial subject.
After several minutes, Mauricio, a classmate, joined the conference and the conversation became daily-like, we talked about subjects of common interest like music that we listened or sports that we practiced, and also we described each other the place where we live and finally about our families.
These 35 minutes conversation demonstrated me how important is learning another language, because if each one chooses not to learn them, the globalization would not exist and we would all live in separated “worlds” and without communicating with other people. Furthermore, we won’t be able to deepen in cultural aspects nor commercialize either.
There are different things that enrich our culture, as it is the exchange of traditions and opinions also with people who have other points of view and thoughts formed on the basis of their lifestyles, that it can be very different from ours. This is as important as to recognize that we cannot live lock up in our worlds. Humans are social beings whose food is the communication with the people of the society, and today, Argentineans and North Americans we fed ourselves with a simple conversation organized by 2 professors whose interest and enthusiasm motivated us to carry on with this project of which I feel absolutely proud of and I desire to continue developing.
Summing up this comment of today experience, I believe that it is a fabulous project that promotes the interactivity and communication with other foreign countries, with which we can acquire new knowledge and concepts. Regarding to learning English with different methods, it seems to me it’s very productive and interesting and worth a try!!

Intercambio cultural...

Ya estamos cerca del final de abril, es increíble que tan rápido pueda pasar el tiempo. Hoy en el colegio comenzamos a organizar nuestra graduación! Y por un momento me detuve a pensar, recordé cuando éramos más chicas y con mis amigas organizábamos con el mismo entusiasmo nuestro cumpleaños de 15, y llegó el momento del día tan esperado, pasó marcando una etapa en nosotras. Pero hoy estamos finalizando aquellas horas diarias que no volveremos a compartir, momentos de risas y bromas, situaciones serias y problemas, también discusiones como buenos recuerdos. Pronto cada una tomará su camino pero nos es difícil despedirnos de ese viejo colegio donde compartimos gran parte de nuestras vidas.

Aprovechando esta oportunidad de comentar mis opiniones y poder expresar mis pensamientos me gustaría contar sobre el proyecto de ingles que estamos llevando a cabo con el curso CAE que estoy cursando en el Instituto de Cultura Inglesa (Cultural XD). Trata de la comunicación con jóvenes de edad similar a la nuestra con quienes intercambiaremos opiniones sobre distintos tópicos, sobre nuestra cultura y temas de actualidad. Me parece una buena oportunidad para hablar sobre este proyecto y cómo nos hace bien en diferentes aspectos.Para empezar, me parece una oportunidad increíble de conocer a personas con diferente cultura, intereses también y lo más importante es desean conocer sobre nuestra lengua y nuestro país.Otro aspecto es poder mejorar nuestro inglés coloquial. Si bien aprendemos mucho durante las clases y de los libros, también es interesante poder hablar, aunque sea por Skype, con personas de lengua inglesa, ya que podemos adoptar de ellos expresiones y frases usadas diariamente.A parte de poder practicar nuestro inglés, podremos ayudar a nuestros compañeros norteamericanos a practicar su español, debo admitir haber escuchado algunas grabaciones suyas y en algunos momentos es un poco gracioso escucharlos tratando de imitar nuestro acento, supongo que compartirán con nosotros esa sensación, pero por otro lado me llena de alegría saber que hay gente en otra parte del mundo que se interesa no solo por nuestra rica lengua, sino en nuestra cultura, de la cuales hay muchos aspectos de los cuales podemos sentirnos orgullosos.

We are already near the end of April, it’s incredible how fast time pass. Today, at school, we begin with our graduation organization! And I detained to think for a moment remembering when we were young and with my friends we organized, with the same enthusiasm our 15th Birthday Party, and the expected day came leaving a bunch of good memories, we will never forget that year. But today, we are ending those daily hours that won’t be shared again, moments of laugh and jokes, serious situations and problems, also discussions as a nice friendship. Soon, each one will take their own way, we will say goodbye to the old school, which saw us grow up and where we share amazing times of our lives.
Taking advantage of this opportunity to comment on my opinions and express my thoughts, I would like to talk about the project that we are leading with the course at the Institute of English Culture. The main topic of the project is communication with young people of similar age to ours with whom we will interchange opinions about different topics, about our culture and situations of current importance. It looks like to me as a good opportunity to speak on this project and how it does well to us in different aspects.
To begin with, I feel it is an incredible opportunity to meet people with different culture, their interests also and the most important thing is that they want to know about our language and our country.
Another aspect is to be able to improve our colloquial English. Though we learn very much during the classes and from the books, also it is interesting that be could speak, though Skype, with native speakers of English language, we will be allow to adopt of them some expressions and phrases used in their every day language. A part of being practicing our English, we will be able to help our North American companions to practice its Spanish, I must admit listening to some of their recordings and at some moments it was a little graceful to listen them trying to imitate our accent, I suppose that they will share with us that sensation, but on the other hand I'm glad to know that there is people around the world that is interested nonsingle in our rich language, but in our culture, that has many aspects of which we can be really proud of.

Una nueva etapa se acerca...

3º año del Polimodal, promoción 2006, el esperado viaje a Bariloche, la graduación, la entrega de banderas... una triste despedida. Esos amigos que estuvieron siempre conmigo, aquellos con quienes jugaba desde pequeña, con quienes estuve toda mi vida en el mismo colegio... Esos amigos que te ayudan y consuelan, que te comprenden y aconsejan, son los mismos que no volveré a ver tan seguido, no jugaré más porque una etapa terminó, la hora de madurar esta aquí abriendo paso a otra que durará la mayor parte de nuestras vidas.
Asi es, dejaré atras mi adolescencia para convertirme en una joven adulta, en un país distinto, otra cultura, otros amigos.

Costa Rica, un país paradisíaco por sus playas y rico en amistad. Decidí estudiar allí por varios motivos, a pesar de que me duela dejar tantos recuerdos atrás...

Dificil decisión la de elegir que seguiré estudiando pero finalmente durante este verano me di cuenta de que quería mejorar en Diseño Gráfico, creo ser buena para esto y voy a probarlo!!

Por eso la creación de este blog, quiero compartir mi experiencia de este último año en el colegio y como se siente el ingreso a la Universidad...

Last year at school, graduation 2006, the expected trip to Bariloche, the graduation, the exchange of flags... a sad goodbye. Those friends who were always around me, those with whom I shared my childhood, those who I was my whole life with, same school, same feelings... Those friends that help and console you, those who understand and advise you, a bunch of good thoughts and feelings.. that wont be felt again, i'm leaving games, a stage is over, the hour to grow up has come.... let me welcome the brand new one, which will last the rest of our lives.

And so it is, I will let behind my adolescence to become a young adult, in a different country, another culture, another friends.Costa Rica, a stunning country by its beaches and friendship.I decided to study there by several reasons, although it hurts to leave so many memories in here.

Tought decision... choosing what to study... during this summer I realize that I wanted to improve my Graphic Design, I believe being good at this and I'm going to prove it!

It is for this reason that I created this blog, hoping to share my experience of this last year at school and feeling the taste of the University entrance...
